So the past two weeks have been pretty cool. I went to NYC to visit Jenn and the rest of the CUHKers living there. What made the trip even more awesome was the fact that Heidi, Debbra, and Ruth all came to visit too! It brought back so many memories of HK...too bad the rest of the crew wasn't there... Food was awesome (definitely the gyros and xiao long bao were highlights...thanks to Don for that), but the company was better. For those fellow CUHKers reading this...new year's in NYC! Do it!
When I came back to Toronto, it was weird. You remember that feeling when you came back from exchange? The one that made you miss the place where you were living and the people that you shared it with? Yeah....I had that, again. It was really strange. Even though I only spent two weeks in NY, it was starting to feel a bit like a second home...
Another thing that kinda slapped me in the face was coming home to see my official offer lying on my bed. I know I should consider myself lucky for having it, but at the same time it feels like my life is about to be over. In one and a half weeks. Dammit. I'm getting owned... So work is going to start on 9/11. How f*cked up is that?
Another thing that sucks hard: one of my best friends (pretty much a non-biological brother) is going to Cali for a month for training. When is he leaving Toronto? 9/11. Dammit! If I could have pushed my offer to October, I would have found some way to dig up the cash to fly over there with him. It would've been so much fun!!! Oh well...I guess I'll have to do that another time...
Last point...Agassi rocks and the Jays have broken my heart. |
